Chris Scott Wilson

Born by the River Tees in Yorkshire, England, Chris Scott Wilson was educated at Barnard Castle School and West Middlesbrough College Of Further Education. He has worked in the hotel trade, a newspaper office, accountancy, non-destructive testing, the music business, and also in physical testing for Testing Solutions at British Steel, later Corus, on the Redcar complex in the UK. With interests ranging across both fiction and non-fiction, he is the author of eleven published books, has contributed to newspapers and magazines, written promotional material for international and local musicians and local businesses. He has also edited a book by local writers, but his main interest is writing historical fiction, both maritime and western. Chris lives with his wife, Susan, on the Yorkshire coast where they spend as much time as possible on their boat.

Donald Barr Chidsey (1902-1981) was a frequent contributor to the pulp magazines in the 1930s, even as he developed a more socially acceptable career as a historical novelist and biographer. Early on he dabbled in private eye fiction for such magazines as Star Detective, Detective Fiction Weekly, Dime Detective, and Black Mask, where he wrote tough stuff about homicide cops and busybody newshawks. He became best known for adventure stories, swift and flavorful historical fiction, much of it set at sea, where the author had spent some time himself.

Victor Suthren

Victor Suthren is a Canadian writer and novelist with an interest in colonial and maritime history. He was born in Montreal and was educated at Bishop's University  and Concordia University. He joined the Civil Service and served as Director General of the Canadian War Museum, Ottawa before leaving to pursue writing. Among his works are two fiction series about Edward Mainwaring, an American colonial serving in the Royal Navy in the 18th century, and Paul Gallant, a French Canadian naval officer also serving in the 18th century. He was appointed an Honorary Captain in the Royal Canadian Navy and has been President of the international Captain Cook Society.

Richard Nigel Stembridge

Richard Nigel Stembridge’s early ambition to become an engineer was altered when he became a finance company manager. He then worked in the motor trade, owned shops and is now a junior civil servant. He was born in Essex but has lived in Newcastle upon Tyne for over thirty years. He is married with two grown up daughters who live in London. Apart from writing, he is a keen motorcyclist and has been involved with Newcastle Cricket Club for many years, currently holding the office of Honorary Treasurer.

Andrew R. Welsh

Andrew R. Welsh was born in North East England. He spent many happy hours in the company of his Grandfather as he regaled him with tales of his seafaring adventures from the 1930s onwards, becoming the master of several merchant vessels before becoming a Harbour Master on the River Tyne in the 1970s.

Andrew first worked full-time as a Scientific Officer in the histology and cytology laboratories before training as a science teacher at the University of Northumbria. His first science teaching post was in Camberley (Surrey), before commencing his overseas teaching positions in Manila (Philippines), Almuñécar (Spain), Cairo (Egypt) and Doha (Qatar). This was followed with time as an advisory teacher in Abu Dhabi (UAE). It was in Doha that the first novel took root and was constructed on a daily basis from Autumn 2005 to Summer 2006 while working as Head of Science. There, the author got married and since then he has worked in Mongolia, Kazakhstan & Kuwait.
